The following is a list comprised for students with Aspergers, ADHD, and bipolar disorders.

  • giving them more time to work through things
  • allowing them to work in a quieter, more distraction free environment
  • not requiring them to do “team” based acitivities
  • breaking larger assignments into smaller, more manageable pieces
  • working with them one-on-one to review material and sticky points
  • recognizing quickly when they are overwhelmed and starting into “avoidance” behavior
  • giving oral exams and assignments when writing is a challenge

(Special thanks to Diane Doser, University of Texas, El Paso, for initiating this list)
