Upcoming deadline reminders!

GSA – On To the Future Deadline July 31

On To the Future (OTF) is a grass roots initiative of The Geological Society of America (GSA) to provide partial-funding for 125 diverse students to attend their first GSA Annual Meeting, this year in Denver, Colorado.

To qualify to be a participant in On To the Future, students must be enrolled as a geoscience undergraduate major or in a geoscience graduate program, are a member of GSA, have NEVER attended a GSA Annual Meeting and are from traditional underrepresented, ethnic/racial or disability group. We will also consider other underrepresented backgrounds (e.g., can include nontraditional students with respect to age, gender identity or expression, religion, national origin or ancestry, veteran’s status, socioeconomic class, physical and mental abilities, and international origin).

Nomination information needs to be completed by July 31.  Students can apply or be nominated by a faculty sponsor.  The program is also soliciting donations to help support as much of the winners’ GSA experience as possible.  Complete application/nomination and donation information is available at the website:
http://community.geosociety.org/OTF/Home/

Successful applicants will be advised mid August.
